Consignment Policy

Shop With Us...Consign With Us...Blossom With Us!

Partnering with moms is the cornerstone of our business.  Therefore, we always welcome new consignment relationships.  Consigning with us is simple.  You clean out your maternity and children's closets...we do the rest.

Below are our policy guidelines on consignment:

General Provisions
We accept apparel year-round and for all seasons.  However, we may choose to focus on seasonal apparel as follows:

Jan - Mar Spring merchandise
Mar - May Summer merchandise
Jul - Sep Fall merchandise
Sep - Nov Winter merchandise

We accept new or nearly-new, gently used designer and name brand apparel (label must be attached) for sale in the Boutique, in addition to non-designer apparel for sale in The Bouton Backroom
.

All gently used clothing must be freshly laundered (or dry cleaned), and in excellent condition (no rips, tears, stains). Zippers must work and all buttons in tact. We do not accept items that are wrinkled, pilly, faded, worn-out-looking, dirty, smelling of smoke or storage.

When in doubt, ask yourself, “Would I buy this for myself or my child?”

All consignors will be required to sign a contract before consigning wth us.

Apparel Selection

We are interested in receiving the most distinctive and the most stylish apparel for our customers.  Therefore, all apparel must be reviewed and accepted for consignment.  Please understand we may not be able to accept all pieces you may want to consign with us. We base our decision to accept upon a number of things such as condition, demand, style, desirability, and compliance with our consignment policies and the CPSIA.

Upon acceptance and inventory, you will receive an itemized list of your apparel and asking price.

Consignment Period
Apparel will be consigned for 90 days. We reserve the right to markdown your items at any time during the 90-day consignment period for special sales and promotions.

In the event your apparel does not sell within the 90-day consignment period, we offer two options:

 1.  Forfeit unsold items
Forfeited items become the sole property of Le Bouton Boutique.  These items will be placed in The Bouton Backroom where they will be marked down ½ price.  When sold,
a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).  Any  unsold apparel will be donated to a charitable organization of our choosing.

2.  Request unsold apparel be returned
Within one (1) week following the end of your 90-day consignment period, you must notify us that you wish to have your items returned.  Then, you must either (a) pick up the clothing within one (1) week of this notification or (b) request that your items be returned to you via USPS at your expense.

Otherwise, in both cases, the apparel becomes the sole property of Le Bouton Boutique.

Pricing
Pricing is at the sole discretion of Le Bouton Boutique.  Many factors play a role in determining prices such as original retail value, approximate value, brand, quality, demand and appearance.

When your apparel sells, you will receive 50% of the selling price and we will receive 50%.

We make no guarantee that the boutique will be able to sell any of your items while on consignment.  We have no obligation to pay you for unsold items.

We do not offer a resale or buyout option at this time.

Fees
There are no fees to begin your partnership as a consignor with us. However, if you notify us that you want to remove your apparel from consignment prior to the end of the 90-day consignment period, you will be responsible for an administrative fee equivalent to $1 for each item removed.

Payment
Payout checks are issued on or around the 15th of each month for sales from the prior month. Payment will be sent to the address you specify in your contract.

Liability
We take exceptional care of the apparel you consign with us; however, merchandise is left at your own risk.  We will not be held accountable for loss due to fire, theft, vandalism, damages or other unusual circumstances.

All Apparel
Must be freshly laundered (or dry cleaned) and folded neatly in a tub, box, or laundry basket, making sure sets of clothes are together. An outfit of the same manufacturer and size is considered one (1) item.

It is preferable, but not required, that maternity apparel be dry-cleaned instead of laundered.
